grandma's give good advice

yesterday, i took BART to the east bay (walnut creek to be exact) to see my grandma and mom. (my mom drives down to the bay area every other week to see her and sometimes i come too.) we went out to lunch and talked a whole lot. my grandma told me stories during the war when her husband was gone and she had to work at the oil refinery and raise the kids (5). she told me about how men would come back and they would have to teach them their jobs and these men would get paid twice what they did for the same job. when the men came back they were automatically out of jobs.

she also told me about the women's rights movements and how she wished shed been apart of them. i also got lots of advice about men, which im not going to mention. when i got back i went by my favorite book shop called Green Apple. it is amazing...ask and ill take you there. kate wanted to go look at a moped Geoff's roommate was selling and i went with. we got into long conversations with the roommate (Eric) about drive-ins and the ex-publication, now website he works for http://Chow Magazine and were then going to go crabbing. well, it got late and i decided to go to bed instead.

today i finished a book (Shop Girl by Steve Martin) when i woke up, (which i was going to read in it's entirety yesterday, had it not been for the moped) then i decided id draw and paint while listening to Robert Johnson (check him out). i finally made something for Brenton, since he made me something a month or two ago. after that i made myself some salmon and rice and watched a documentary on John Lennon. THEN i read another book (Franny and Zooey by JD Salinger). now, i think ill go to bed. i am happy with today.

So who's the 5th kid? ;) Also - your mom made us breakfast and it was awesome! Sorry we missed you though!
