my dad is here

My dad came to visit me for Thanksgiving. Yesterday he met me at work and we tried to go to this little Bavarian place I thought he’d like, but it was packed, so we headed over to a little family owned Italian place. The food was fair, the service…horrible. We had to ask for the check 4 times. It took longer to get the check than to decide what to eat, order, get our food and eat. But oh well, it’s always good to see ol’ Dad. After that he wanted to see some old bars he used to go to when he lived in the city. We headed to Inner Richmond and walked around before deciding on an old dive bar. This really drunk guy, as in could barely stand up, walked up to me (sitting next to my dad) and asked where I got my good looks from. I told him my dad and pointed to him right next to me. This caught the guy off guard and he left me alone…until my dad went to the restroom. He came up and told me I reminded him of the lion from Wizard of Oz (because of my hair). I said ok, thanks? And my dad came out and we left.



The next day he wanted to go to breakfast so I took him to this amazing place in the Upper Fillmore called the Grove. It reminds me of a lodge at Tahoe. We ate and then he took me to Ikea to get a bookshelf. We got home and put it together, by that time it was dinnertime and we finally got to go to Suppenkuchen (the Bavarian place). It was really good, had a couple beers, he took me home and then he went home. Good to see the Pops.

Brenton visited me at work today and surprised me with Jonathan Owens!

VH1's Best Week Ever

Yes, like the title says, this past week, including last weekend might be going down in my Best Week Ever hall of fame. It seems my month and a half of Worst Luck Ever, or so I hope, is over. Sam has been here and we had a blast. We have been eating amazing food, drinking mimosas and lots of beer. Unfortunately she left me yesterday. But thanks for visiting and please come back soon. I love you!

Last night was my first night in the house alone since my flat mates have been gone. I didn’t know what to do with myself, so I rearranged the living room by myself and dang, we have some heavy furniture. I’m a little sore but it feels good.

Today Kate came over and we took the mopeds (thanks Brenton) to get some turkey sandwiches and headed off to the beach for a little picnic. It was gorgeous out today.







Kate left, and now I’ll be going on night 2 alone. Tonight will be spent watching amazing movies (Peter Pan on VHS) and horrible ones (Grind) and reading Vogue and Ikea catalogues and probably a little cleaning, maybe some homework if I have time.

what a fabulous week

Wednesday 11/14
Class was cancelled which meant I got to hang out with Lo for her birthday. I went over to her house and brought her her present (a chia pet and a nice bottle of champagne). Lo, Sally, Eric and I all went to dinner and Dave met us there. It was fabulous. After that we went to see one of Lo’s favorite…Manchester Orchestra, where we met Zach. She bought $50 worth of merch that Steve and I took turns holding for her and then headed over to Delirium, of course.

Thursday 11/15
Lo and I went to NFG, thanks to Steve. We were both tired and there weren’t that many people in the Fillmore. The crowd wasn’t responding well, even though Jordan was trying really hard. I felt bad, we left early.

Friday 11/16
I got up early and headed to Chico. I needed to get out of the city for a minute. Sorry to everyone there. I didn’t call anyone while I was there, except the girls. Went to dinner with my dad. Had drinks with Mon, Jay and Sam.

Saturday 11/17
Got my hair did. Went out to see Jay’s house. RODE HORSES Jay. YAY! Did laundry. Picked up Sam and headed back to the city.

Sunday 11/20
Woke up early and went SAILING. YES! With my Mom, Aunty Karen and some of her friends. Oh man was it pretty. We were on a 40 foot boat with low winds. It was freezing and foggy, but worth it. We sailed over to Angel Island to do a Segway tour then sailed back. The bay was so calm, I actually fell asleep on the way back. I’m going to devote an entire blog to pictures or make a video or something.

The new Sigur Ros film is premiering tonight. I hope Sam wants to go!

quitting and starting fresh

I am quitting GB this week and starting at Azalea this week. I’ll be working for my friend Ginno at the one of the most amazing boutiques in San Francisco. Too bad I can’t afford to buy half of the clothing in there.

This last Thursday Madeline and I did a little shopping in the Castro. And yes, she got a guys number. And yes, he was gay, but baby steps right? After that I met up with Lo and we walked down to Haight for San Francisco's first RVCA art show at the spankin' new store. Free alcohol! What?! Pure craziness and fabulous art. Kate, Brenton, Sally and Joseph all came and also Sean...an ex. yay. Lo and I stayed for about an hour and then took a cab down to the Warfield to see Paramore. The cab driver decided to tell us true stories of SF cab drivers killing people. Awesome. We ran into Aaron and Zach there. Aaron took us to the side stage for a few songs, but the sound sucks from there. He had to do merch stuff, so Lo and I rocked out with the crowd for the rest of the show. Thanks Aaron for getting us in!

2 nights ago Madeline was out at the Elbo room with Rachel and she met Gordo from Lizzie McGuire.

How cute is he?
I guess he goes to UC Berkeley. I stayed home and watched Transformers. Coincidence? I think not! And I give Transformers a thumbs up. I really liked it and the saturated color through the whole thing was beautiful.

Last night we all went out to Elbo Room, Delirium, and Casa Nova. While I was waiting outside La Cumbre for Rachel and Madeline to get food some girl went to open the door and pretty much body slammed me. When I asked what that was about the guy she was with replied with.."well it IS San Francisco.." I asked what that was supposed to mean. He said that she probably did it on purpose. I asked what that meant and if she was a lesbian or something. He said no and asked where we were from as if we just wouldn’t understand unless we were from San Francisco. Rachel came in at that point and helped out. Eventually he left me alone. I think the girl was just drunk.

Tonight Zach is taking me to see Sondre Lerche.

Man, he is cute. I love me some Scandinavians.

I’m sure most of you have all heard about the huge ship running into the Bay Bridge and spilling oil into the bay. It’s killing wildlife and most of the beaches are closed. It was caused by “human error”. If not, Google it.

nice little ending to the day

i was driving to work and some dumb lady on her cell phone in her mercedes benz hit me. then tried to say i hit her and that she had a green, along with me. thats so weird that i could have hit her considering my car was tboned. i tried to call the police, but they said they wouldnt come if no one was hurt. interesting. so this streak of bad stuff happening is just never ending. im still trying to figure out what i did to deserve all this. i know its happening for a reason, im just not sure what the reason is yet. when 2 months hits its gotta stop....right?

so i skipped work, called Lo. she brought over a card, movies and food to make me feel better. so amazing. thanks Lo! all when she was feeling like crap from getting sick.

then i came home to quinn drinking, along with the girls. this continued from about 10-12. madeline and rachel split a fifth of morgan's. and we all went to bed. then i heard a lot of crashing and banging. i came out to find madeline in the bathroom, rachel in her room. both puking. so i got waters and paper towels and rubbed backs, quinn laughed. they went back to bed, and now i cant wait to go to bed. 4 hours a night for a week=tired.

visitors galore

this last week have been amazing and fun and tiring, filled with old and new friends. ill try to make this short and to the point.

monday my class was cancelled so lorrisa dragged me to a metal show her friend tour managing. we looked up the bands and were not looking forward to it at all especially because we were wearing all pastels. we got there and it was AMAZING. seriously. we had the best time. the guys were amazing, the show was soo entertaining. i stole a set list of the headlining band...Behemoth. there was a band from poland and one from france and they were so nice. over all an amazing night.

tuesday ben, trevor and peter came with emery. i got to hangout with them all day and then kate and i went to the show. the aftershow party ended up back in the bus and a dance party was started. it lasted until about 3am and then, peter, ben, kate and i went to jack in the box. ben bought us all $26 worth of food and we came back and ate it all. ben then fell asleep sitting up and we all went to bed. the next day i made then all banana bread and had the same day all over again, but with halloween and girls in some interesting costumes. emery did a hilarious show where they all dressed as their favorite bible character. then more dance party and getting home late.

the next day quinn got here with melee. quinn, chris, gabe and tony all came over. we talked and laughed and had a great time. quinn stayed over and the next day we all went to get coffee and chat it up. quinn helped us move kate and then madelines parents got here and we finished moving kate. after that we went to the melee show and had a great time. the headliner...matt nathanson did journey's dont stop believin and i was so excited we all sang out hearts out. we all went to dennys after and had lots of food. then they drove me and quinn home. and that brings us to today and now quinns staying until sunday.
